The Air Max 720 shoe heritage continues with this latest model and despite having an undisputedly modern design, the combination of premium materials used on the upper has its roots in the seventies. Instead of synthetic fabric, the upper uses traditional mesh in crisp white with grey and pale vanilla accenting featured through TPU overlays that feature on the side panels, toe box and heel. Darker detailing through suede eyestays offer a dark contrast against the transparent midsole and mudguards which have a golden tint.

In the same way that the Air Max 97 paved the way just over two decades ago for having the longest exposed Air unit, the 720 has broken that record with the tallest to date - running around the length of the shoe for an unrivalled level of premium comfort. Additional design features include a waved mudguard and TPU clips for a greater visual impact as well as structure to the silhouette. Finally the rubber outsole features grooves to provide reliable traction.

Nike’s SS19 season has seen a blend of heritage and futuristic designs combining more and more seamlessly, with this being one of the best examples yet.
